HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Opened in 1913 by Strathcona businessman William Henry Sheppard, the original Edmonton Brewing & Malting Company was a leader in brewing in the Province of Alberta.

The origins of Edmonton Brewing and Malting Company, which we lovingly refer to as EBM Co., is ingrained in the history of the city of champions. The original brewery under the same name, began in 1913 and was the first brewery in Edmonton and the third in Alberta. EBM’s history has had long lasting effects on this city, including the construction of the Brew Castle on 121 Street, commonly referred to as Molson House.
Because of this, our line-up will have a strictly Edmonton feel to them. Naming things after prominent people, places, and things in the city. We will give you a little history lesson with each release!
